Book this unique wood burning and printmaking experience for your own group. Perfect for friends’ nights, small celebrations, families, or anyone who wants to gather and make something beautiful together. In this unique printmaking class, students use fire and ink to capture the beauty of wood’s natural grain. By gently torching growth rings, prepping the surface, and pulling prints, you’ll reveal intricate patterns that tell a story of growth and time. This hands-on process explores texture, contrast, and the organic artistry found in nature. This class is offered as a private gathering. You reserve the date, invite your group, and I’ll guide everyone through the process of creating their own prints. Because the class takes place in my home workshop, tools and stations are shared, so larger groups may move through the process a little more slowly while everyone gets time with the tools. The experience works especially well with small groups of about 6–8 people, though other group sizes are welcome. What to Expect... Participants will: *burn down summer rings using a torch exposing the winter rings *brush and prepare the end-grain wood surface *roll ink and pull prints by hand *experiment and play with different paper, techniques and patterns No experience is necessary... this process is approachable, surprising, and always produces beautiful results. Private Gathering Details... Private sessions are reserved for a flat booking rate, plus materials per participant. Once your date is booked, simply invite your group and come ready to create. Families are welcome to book private gatherings together. Kids often enjoy participating alongside parents, and sharing the process can make the experience even more fun. Materials are typically charged per participant printing. If younger kids are sharing tools or printing with a parent, materials can be adjusted. Children should be accompanied by a participating adult, and all tools are introduced with guidance so everyone can work safely and comfortably.
