Service Description
Discover the magic of working with green wood while creating a small, functional box on the lathe. Students will turn and hollow a vessel from freshly cut wood, then fit it with a dry wooden base. As the vessel dries, the wood naturally shrinks around the bottom, locking it securely into place. Along the way, students will learn basic hollowing techniques, how to fit the base, and how to work with the natural movement and character of green wood. Each finished box will be one of a kind and may be left simple or embellished with carved texture and colorful milk paint. This is a beginner-friendly class, but students should have some previous woodturning experience. The class will begin with a brief refresher on lathe safety and tool use. All tools and materials are provided. Interested but new to the lathe? Students without previous turning experience are welcome to schedule a private introductory lesson before the class to learn the basic skills needed to participate safely and confidently. Cancellation, Refund, and Credit Policy We offer a full refund in the following circumstances: *Family or medical emergencies *Cancellations made at least three (3) weeks before the scheduled class date *Registrations made in error, provided we are notified within 24 hours of booking In most other cases, we offer a credit toward a future class, provided the instructor is notified at least forty-eight (48) hours before the start of the class. No refunds or credits are available for cancellations made less than forty-eight (48) hours before the scheduled start of the class. If a class is canceled by the instructor or Lacey Spray LLC due to illness, emergency, low enrollment, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances, participants will be offered either a full refund or a credit toward a future class, at the participant’s choice.
